IISc or IIT which one to prefer? What are the different options that open up after completing both the courses?

I am interested in research in particle physics should I prefer IISc or is there an option to do research after completing electrical at IIT madras? What are the different options that open up after completing both the courses? I am asking you such a question because my parents are also concerned about my career while I am deeply interested in research.
