J.R.F --- JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

To get the Ph.D Degree you need to write the J.R.F examination ,research programme through the council’s support.The award is made on the Merit basis by holding an entrance examination after issuing a country wide admission notice.

Basically the admission notice is published in leading English Newspapers of India.You can expect the notification is in during the “” MARCH/APRIL”” and you can find it on the website.And te entrance examination is usually held in first/Second week of JULY.
Large number of JRF’s are awarded each year by CSIR to candidates holding the BS-4 years program/B.Tech/B.E/M.Sc or equivalent degree who are enrolled.

The upper age limit for applying for the JRF award is 28 years.There would be an age relaxation up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women,Physically handicapped,and OBC’s.The selection for the award shall be made on basis of competitive written test called the National Eligibility Test(NET).

The stipend for a JRF selected through the CSIR-UGC NET Will be of Rs.16,000/-per monthfor the first two years.In addition to that,annual contingent grant of Rs.20,000 per fellow will be provided to the university/Institution.
