Is MD equivalent to a Doctorate of Medicine course?
Is MD not a doctorate degree although the full form is "DOCTOR OF MEDICINE"? Is MD equivalent to any other post graduate course like MA or MCA? Are DM & MCH the doctorate degrees for MEDICINE & notMD?

A doctorate degree is the highest level of academic degree in most fields. Doctorate of Medicine is a profession degree which is also abbreviated as MD.

In India, MD is an advanced academic degree in the field of medical science, similar to a doctorate or a PhD. ... After successfully completing a 3 year study and the respective exam, both practical and theoretical; that a candidate would be conferred with the MD degree.
