UGC NET Selection Criteria consists of two examinations, i.e., Paper 1 and 2. UGC NET Selection Process is one of the toughest Selection processes since a very low percentage of total candidates clear the UGC NET JRF Selection Examination. UGC NET JRF notification 2023 released in February.

The NTA releases two cutoff lists as cutoff percentile and cutoff marks for Assistant professor only and Junior Research Fellowship .
The minimum qualifying marks for general category is 40% and for reserved category is 35%.

There is no negative marking in the exam.

UGC decides the qualifying criteria to select aspirants to award JRF and Lecturership. Only 6% of candidates who appeared will qualifying the exam and become eligible for assistant professor.
