Validity of M.A. Degree through Distance education for UGC-NET/JRF?

I am pursuing M.A in Criminology and Police Administration from Madurai Kamaraj University through Distance education... Is the M.A (Criminology &Police Administration) degree (through Distance education) is valid or eligible for UGC-NET/JRF?

The first thing I would like to let you know is that, a degree course pursued from a UGC-recognized university irrespective of its mode i.e; whether in distance or in regular mode, it is valid for filling an application for UGC NET/JRF.

So, your M.A. degree course pursued in distance mode from Madurai Kamaraj University which is a UGC-recognized university is certainly valid for filling out an application for UGC NET/JRF.

Further, to be eligible for appearing in the same examination, you must have managed at least 55% marks in your Master's degree course (with the provision of marks relaxation of 5% in case of reserved category candidates). Also, to be eligible for the post of JRF, your age must not exceed 30 years (with the provision of upper age limit relaxation for reserved category candidates as per the government norms).

Yes, students who have done Masters from distance are eligible for the UGC NET exam. It's not necessary to do regular post graduation course. Only you should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in Masters.

As Madurai Kamaraj University is a UGC recognized university, so a Master degree course pursued from the same university is certainly valid for appearing in the UGC NET examination as far as eligibility for the same examination is concerned.

Further, for appearing in the same examination, you need to complete your Master's degree course with at least 55% marks or 50% marks in case you belong to reserved category.

Also, if you are interested in both JRF and Assistant Professor posts through UGC NET then your age must be under 30 years if you belong to reserved category. Upper age limit relaxation will be applicable for you in case you belong to reserved category.
