What are Exam Pattern and Syllabus of UGC NET JRF?

The UGC NET/JRF examination is a MCQ-based online examination of 3 hours comprising of two papers i.e; Paper I with 50 questions and Paper II with 100 questions.

Paper I is a General Paper comprising of questions on Teaching & Research Aptitude while Paper II comprises questions from the optional subject.

The UGC NET paper comprises two papers namely Paper I consisting of 50 questions and Paper II consisting of 100 questions. Each question carries 2 marks and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers therefore maximum mark for the paper is 300.

Also, Paper I is a General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude and Paper II is based on the subject selected by the candidate as an optional subject.
