The course structure of MS in Bioinformatics by Research in IIIT, Hyderabad is given below:

Semester I:

Computer Programming
Advanced Problem Solving
Environments
Advanced Biology
Scripting and Computer
Introduction to Biology
Advanced Molecular Architecture
Biostatistics

Semester II:

Bio molecular Structure Interaction and Dynamics
Database Management System
Mechanics
Introduction to Bioinformatics
Applications of Classical & Quantum
Elective
Summer Project: Thesis

Semester III:

Advanced Bioinformatics
MS Thesis

Semester IV:

MS Thesis

Course structure of MS(Bioinformatics) in IIIT-Hyderabad;

Duration: Maximum 2 years (including 1 year of course work followed by thesis work) and it is spread over 4 semesters.

MS(Bioinformatics) is basically a research program in one of the bioinformatics related domains.
