The first thing I would like to let you know is that UGC NET is not held for Engineering Papers and hence qualifying NET/SLET/SET for becoming an assistant professor (lectureship) in engineering college is not required.

So, you can become an assistant professor (lecturer) in an engineering college after completion of your Master of Engineering degree course following the recruitment process of the concerned engineering college.

For details regarding the required qualifications for teaching posts as laid down
by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and as adopted by the University, you can refer to the link http://www.satiengg.in/PDF/UGC_Eligi...nnexure-II.pdf.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
