The Biochemistry paper would be a compulsory paper in the first semester for all students pursuing a Masters degree in Environmental Technology. The paper has two sections, the first being a scoring objective section consisting of Multiple Choice questions, while the second section is a descriptive section containing short notes and long answer type questions. The paper not only tests the knowledge of Biology but the student is also expected to answer questions on organic chemistry; such as structural diagrams of chemical compounds. The second section of the paper asks for more thorough knowledge of both subjects, and can get a bit lengthy. It consists of Descriptive questions such as the description of DNA Replication, and derivation of formulae and equations from the syllabi of Biology and Chemistry. It requires a lot of time-adhered practice to complete the paper in time and answer all questions with diagrams as and where required.
