The PUE board conducts a short term educational course in certain disciplines which extends for maximum two years. This system is prevalent in many states including Karnataka where students are required to pass the PUE exam in order to become eligible for university education in any course of Science, Commerce or Humanities. Apart from this exam, a common entrance test is to be qualified. The Physics paper is designated under the Science section and the question papers are set to test the knowledge of students on the basic areas of physics. The basic areas include concepts, principles, hypotheses, models, postulates and theories in electromagnetism, electricity, motion, machines, thermodynamics, refraction, phenomena of light, heat, sound, work and energy and radioactivity chiefly. The individual properties, components, processes, applications and drawbacks are inclusive of the course material. The questions are thus very conceptual in nature and examinees must be clear about the different occurrences and concepts.
