The question paper of the Information Theory and Coding has a total of 9 questions. The first section of the paper is compulsory and multiple choice based, it contains ten questions, each with a weightage of 2 marks. The answers to this section have to be written in the space provided for them in the question paper itself, and the answers to this part shall be collected earlier. The student is given 45 minutes to solve this section. The questions are all mathematical problems based on Probability, codes etc. some of the questions are what is the valid code vector whose product is given, if the message bits appear together at the beginning and end of the codeword, then the code formed has to be chosen from the four given options of Non-systematic, Systematic, Forward and Backward. In the next section, the student has to attempt five questions out of eight, each question with a weightage of 16 marks. The questions all have sub-parts. The questions may be theoretical or mathematical or analytical based problems. Some of the important questions for this section are definition of PDF, CDF, Stationarity, and Ergodicity.
