The Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics is conducted for a total of 80 marks and the time allotted for completing the paper is two and a half hours to 3 hours. The total question paper is divided into three sections. Section 1 consists of 10 marks. Section 2 consists of 30 marks and section 3 is made up of 30 marks. In section 1 you have 10 short questions carrying 1 mark each which is usually true false or multiple choice questions. Section 2 consists of eight questions out of which you need to answer 6 which consist of 5 marks each. The topics that are covered are carbohydrates, amino acids, metabolism, fatty acids, triglycerides and phospholipids. In section 3 there are a total of 5 questions and you need to answer 3 which consist of 10 marks each. The topics that are covered are lipoproteins, TCA cycle, energy consumption, glycolytic sequence, carbohydrates and orotic aciduria.
