The paper has been given 70 marks in total and is divided into three broad sections. All questions are compulsory. The Section A has objective questions like fill in the blanks or multiple choice questions. Section B has 8 short questions from where the students must answer any 6. Some of the questions from this section are: what is bioinformatics and what are its three divisions, what are the skills required by a Bioinformatics professional, what are the applications of KDD, what is Homology Modeling. Section C has four descriptive questions and the student must answer any 3. Some of the questions are about the role of Internet in Bioinformatics, discuss the role of Bioinformatics in Pharmaceutical industry, and write notes on Gene Bank, EMBL and PDB.
