Mumbai University BE in Electronics Engineering 7th Sem Power Electronics and Drives Exam – Download Previous Year’s Question Papers
The paper contains 7 descriptive type questions. The first question of the paper is compulsory while students have the choice of attempting four out of the rest of the questions. The questions generally have sub-parts. The questions are both theoretical and mathematical problem based. Short notes are also expected questions each year. Some of the important topics are include SCRs and their triggering methods, bridge converters both half controlled and full controlled with inductive load and resistive load along with waveforms, TRIAC, DIAC, McMurray bridge inverter, chopper circuit using SCRs, UPS and its working principle, SMPS and how it works, speed control of Slip Ring Induction Motor with the help of Slip Power Recovery Scheme, IR Compensation, DC Motor speed control using Microcontroller, Series Inverter and its waveform, comparison between IGBT and SCR, TRIAC and SCR and GTO and SCR, half wave and full-wave Rectifier circuits, Parallel inverter, modified series inverter, PWM inverters etc.
