Manufacturing Planning and Control is taught to the candidates who are in their 7th Semester of Mechanical Engineering course in Mumbai University. The questions given are based on the syllabus and one has to be adept in the course to answer it well. The paper has total 7 questions and one can answer any 4 of them of the 6 remaining after answering the first mandatory question. All the questions thus carry 20 marks and make the total to a 100 in 3 hours writing time. All the questions are subjective in nature. The important questions that are asked frequently are JIT movement, JIT Core Japanese Practices, Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP), Toyota Production System, production control and Flexible work force. The syllbaus is somethings one has to be thorough with to do well. One has to be good at the subject. One must not ignore the other parts of the syllabus either.
