The part I paper I is basically introduction to sociology paper dealing with basics of sociology. The subject deals with the fundamentals of society, the factors that affects it and the influential measures. The Nalanda Open University-BA in Sociology Introduction to Sociology Paper has 10 questions from the basics of sociology. The candidates are asked to answer any five out of them.

Every question in the paper carries equal marks and thus requires equal stress and explanation. The total marks are 70, and the mark of each question is 14. The total duration of the examination paper is 3 hours. Within 3 hours, the candidates are asked to answer 5 questions. The questions are very straight forward, but require long explanations in order to answer it completely. Thus, all the answers are quite long and descriptive. There are no negative marks for wrong answers.
