Nalanda Open University is a state university situated in Bihar. The university has been setup for the students who are unable to attend regular colleges but still have the desire to get higher educational qualification. This is the only university in Bihar which offers distance education.

Subject Description

Sociology is the study of society and it includes the knowledge about social mobility, religion, law, secularization, deviance etc. This is synonymous to social science and it provides knowledge for the pursuit of social welfare.

Marks and Timing

In Sociology Part III examination the papers carry a total of 70 marks and 3 hour is allotted for the completion of the examination. The entire questions are long type and carry fourteen marks each.

Paper Description

The paper contains ten questions out of which a candidate has to answer any five questions. There is no multiple type questions observed in the paper. Short notes type questions are also given. Four questions will be there in the short note section out of which a candidate has to choose any two questions. Short notes usually carry seven marks each. There is no word limit given to any question. The candidate should go through each and every topic of the subject as the question may be from any module.
