The National Eligibility Test or NET is meant to test the eligibility of the candidates for lectureship. This test also tests the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship. UGC conducts the NET for Humanities and a few Science Subjects. CSIR is responsible for conducting the eligibility test in other science subjects. The test is known as CSIR-UGC NET. Political Science is one of the subjects in which the test is taken. There are two papers on the subject- Paper II and Paper III. Paper II has objective questions and paper III has essay type questions. The total marks carried by the objective paper II is 100 and that by paper III is 200.
