Re: Is 12th percentage necessary for admission in Jadavpur University?
If you wish to pursue engineering from Jadavpur university, then your ranking in Joint Entrance will be considered first. Percentage of marks obtained in Class 12 comes second. You will be called for counselling, and if your rank secured is among the top ones, then you will be placed/selected for Jadavpur university. It is the JEE(Main) rank that will help you get through Jadavpur University. A candidate must secure 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. That is the basic eligibility criteria as far as marks in +2 level is concerned.

Re: Is 12th percentage necessary for admission in Jadavpur University?
Sir, I have appeared for 2 levels in an international board (Cambridge A Level examinations). Although I shall be sitting for WBJEE, I wanted to ask if my board is recognised by JU. Also does JU have rules regarding students who have taken a year off, I have a valid reason for this but wanted to ask if there are certain rules regarding gap years.

There is no such criteria according to the WBJEE brochure 2019 and you just need 45% (40% for reserve category) to appear for WBJEE. Jadavpur University gives admission based on WBJEE score. Hence, no need to worry just make sure you are well prepared for WBJEE. WBJEE Brochure: https://wbjeeb.nic.in/WBJEECMS/Handler/FileHandler.ashx |
