Hello everyone, I am studying in 11th with Science stream. I am interested to join Naval Service. I want to become a Naval Officer. Kindly inform me about the recruitment and tell me the procedure to become Naval Officer?

You should study class 12th with PCM stream from a recognised board and then you can apply for UPSC NDA/NA exam if you are looking to become a Naval Officer. Just make sure your age is between 16.5 to 19.5 years and have an unmarried status.

Selection will be on the basis of written exam and SSB conducted by the UPSC. Physics, Chemistry and Maths is absolutely compulsory to join the Indian Naval Academy.

Being a student of Class 11th, to become a Naval i.e; Navy Officer, you need to first complete your Class 12th and then qualify NDA (National Defence Academy) entrance examination held by UPSC twice every year.

--> Further, the minimum qualification required to apply for the NDA entrance examination are as below :-

* You must be an unmarried Indian male candidate.

* Your age must lie within 16.5 years to 19.5 years.

* You must have completed your Class 12th in any discipline from a recognised board of education. But, to join Indian Navy and Indian Airforce, you need to have pursued Mathematics and Physics at your Class 12th level.

* You must hold the physical fitness as per the service requirement norms.

Apart from the option of NDA, you can even become a Navy Officer through CDS (Combined Defense Services) entrance examination after completion of your B.Tech/B.E. degree course with your age lying within 20 years to 24 years.
