The minimum qualification required to become an IAS officer is that the candidate must have completed minimum qualification of graduation in any discipline from a recognised University and percentage is not a criteria to appear in UPSC examination.
After 12th standard you have to take admission in any degree course as per your choice and then you can appear in UPSC examination to become an IAS officer. |

To be an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) Officer, you are required to qualify the Civil Services examination held by UPSC once every year.
Further, the minimum education required for appearing in the Civil Services examination, you must have completed your graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Marks in graduation or Class 12th does not matter as far as the eligibility for the same examination is concerned. So, having completed your Class 12th with 44% marks, to become an IAS officer,, you are required to first complete your graduation degree and then you need to qualify the Civil Services examination.
