Is studying Tamil mandatory in 9th CBSE at Tamil Nadu?
Hello,
Kindly tell me know that Tamil as a subject is compulsory in 9th CBSE of Tamil Nadu state? Please let me know asap. |

In 2015 -2016 academic year, there will not be any non-Tamil category of students in class 10th public examination. All the students in Tamil Nadu who will be sitting for their class 10th public examination in 2015-2016 academic year, have to study Tamil compulsory as their first language.

No, Tamil is not mandatory to study in 9th class in CBSE in Tamil Nadu.
Compulsory subjects are English, Social Science, Science, Mathematics. Tamil language is optional subject for 9th class. But many schools make it compulsory to study Tamil. If you want not to study Tamil then select the school accordingly. |
