My student is in class 9 now and his date of birth is 27 December 2008 and he will give 10th board exam in CBSE in 2023 is this correct date of birth to give the tenth board exam of CBSE in 2023.

As per the guidelines issued by the CBSE the minimum age for appearing in the 10th standard exams is 14 years as on 31 December of the year of examination.
As per your date of birth, your age will be 15 years 04 days as on 31 December 2023. Hence you are eligible for appearing in the 10th class examinations in 2023.

The age limit criteria is decided by the Directorate of State Education.

It is not the CBSE who decides the age limit. So, you can

The age limit for the class 10th exam should be 14 to 15 years of age as on 31st March of the respective year.

There is no official notification regarding the age limit to appear for 10th board exam by CBSE.

For every state there is different age limit to appear in examination as it is Directorate of respective state which determine the age criteria.

As per the guidlines of central board of secondary education (CBSE) the minimum age to appear in the 10th board exam is 14 years, as of 31st december of the year of examination . However, there is no upper limit of age to appear in the exam.

According to CBSE guidelines, a student must be 14 years old as of December 31 of the examination year in order to sit for the 10th board exam.

First thing I would like to let you know is that CBSE has bot set any particular criteria of minimum age for appearing in the Class 10th board examination for students of all CBSE regions rather it follows the minimum age criteria as set by concerned state board of examination in which school is located to decide whether a particular student is eligible for appearing in CBSE Class 10th board examination as per the age criteria set by concerned state examination board.

In general, the age criteria set by various board of examination asks for a minimum age of 14 years or 14 years and 6 months by the time of appearing in the Class 10th board examination.

So, being born on 27.12.2008 and currently a student of Class 9th, you are expected to appear in your Class 10th board examination in March 2023 and by that time you will be more than 14 years but under 14 years and 6 months old and hence you will be eligible for appearing in CBSE Class 10th board examination from that states only which asks for a minimum age of 14 years. So, to confirm your eligibility for appearing in the CBSE Class 10th board examination as per your age you can check with your concerned state education board.
