Sir I am a btech(computer science) student and presently i am in 3rd year and i want to join to navy,so plz sir help me to provide the information regarding jobs in indian/merchant navy

hi,

You can join merchant navy through two fields:
Nautical science and Marine engineering field
Navigational fields
Now since both the fields are different the eligibility for both of them is also different:
now the field in which you should be interested is Nautical science and Marine engineering field as you can do this after 12 th.
eligibility criteria for Nautical science and Marine engineering:
Educational Qualification : You should have passed your 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics.
you must be Indian citizen.
Age limit for candidates is 16 years to 19.5 years while training.
If you are filling the eligibility criteria then you can go for the exam.

If you want to join Indian navy then firstly complete your graduation the appear CDS exam. when you are appearing final year of your degree then you can also appear CDS exam.Combined Defence Services Exams (CDS): this is the exam of defence sector,

Eligibility Criteria for CDS exam
for eligibility candidate should be completed graduation
final year candidatecan also give CDS exam
age should be 19 to 25 year.
candidate should be Indian.

Hi friend,

You can join Merchant Navy in following cadres:

1. Technical cadre
2. Deck cadre

Education Qualification:

For Technical cadre : B.Tech in Marine Engineering or B.Sc/B.Tech in any branch + 1 year technical Pre-Sea Course.

For Deck cadre : 10th class with Pre-Sea Deck Cadet course of three months.

Age Limit :

Candidate's age must not be above 20 years.
There is a relaxation of about 5 years for SC and ST candidate.


For Indian Navy:

You have a very good chances to get job in Indian navy after B.Tech. To join Indian Army you can apply for CDS Exam.
CDS stands Combined Defence Services. This exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year.

Age Limit :

Age limit for Indian navy is from 19 to 22 years.

*Also the candidate must be physically and medically fit.

i am b.tech cse student i am intrested to have into Indian navy or IAF and i know that i can get there after clearing CDS or AFCAT,and can work into flying branch or grond duty branch but i need to know that ,is ptu (Punjab technical university) students are eligible for CDS OR AFCAT examinations? ,and also want to know about the syllabus of CDS and AFCAT.please also tell us about the level of interview after the written exam clearance.

yes you can join merchant navy..firstly you have to clear..stcw all 4 modules..then after you have to clear gmdc .then you are eligible for mechant navy
