I am a second year BCom student. Can I do LLB once I complete BCom? If yes, could you please tell me what is the procedure? Do I have to write CLAT?

Yes you can do LLB course after B.com. The duration will be of 3 yrs.
The eligibility criteria for LLB course is that one should have B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com degree with minimum 40% marks in aggregate for general category and 35% in aggregate for SC/ST students. But you have to pass the Entrance exam and personal Interview.

Well it depends on your qualification because the qualification change as if you apply on the basis of graduation and than on the basis of your 12th class.The Qualification will change little but not much.

You can do llb after your 12th class as after graduation degree too just their will be one change that the duration of the course will change.If you do llb after 12th than the duration of the course is 5 years and if you will do it after graduation than the duration of the course will become 3 years.

On the Basis of 12th class the candidate should be pass in the 12th hsc exam from a recognized board and also with 50% marks and your age should be not more than 20 years.

And on the other hand if you want to apply for the exam on the basis of graduation than the course duration will decrease to 3 years and also you should be pass in the graduation degree from a recognized university.You marks should be at least 45% marks in the graduation.

The Candidate age should be not more than 30 years for the graduate level entry in the llb course.

You do not have to write Common Law Admission Test to apply for the LLB course. The Common Law Admission Test is conducted for National Law University and offer BA LLB course.

BA LLB also known as integrated LLB course is pursued after completing 12th. The duration of this course is 5 years due to the fact that it includes course of bachelor degree like BA, BBA and LLB course.

Since you will complete bachelor of commerce course, this integrated LLB course is not the option for you. There is nothing to worry about since LLB which is 3 years duration course holds same value as integrated LLB course.

The procedure to apply for LLB includes first completing the graduation degree and then apply for the course. The LLB has been replaced by various universities with BA LLB course. However there are still some universities like Banaras Hindu University as well Delhi University that continue to offer this course.

Please do not apply for the course through any open university. LLB is not offered through distance education and neither Bar Council of India accepts it.


Eligibility

1. You will have to first complete B.Com or any other graduation degree.

2. Please secure 45 percent or above marks in B.Com

3. If you belong to SC/ST then will be able to get admission with 40 percent marks.

4. Your age should not exceed 30 years at the time of applying.

5. SC/ST candidates have 5 years relaxation.

6. There is no relaxation for OBC.

1) Age between 21 to 27

2) minimum 3 year graduation degrees with 40 percent

there is relaxation of marks for SC,ST AND OBC category

3) form for LLB entrace are availble in moth of april for all indian universities.

LLB stands for bachelor of legislative law which is three years course,there are two option for doing LLB , first is three years course whose eligibility is graduation and second is integrated which is five years and whose eligibility is 10+2.


Eligibility criteria for LLB

Candidate should be graduate with 45% marks from recognized university.
For SC/ST marks should be 40% .
