Government Gandhi Memorial Science College previously called as Prince Of Wales College was established with its previous name in the year 1905. The college got affiliation from Punjab University with its previous name for conducting examinations in chemistry, physics, philosophy, history, Persian, Arabic, Sanskrit, geology, mathematics and English. Later the university got affiliation form Jammu University for offering the following UG and PG courses:

Eligibility criteria:

For UG courses offered by G.G.M. Science College, candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination from the board of school education belonging to the state of Jammu & Kashmir or any other board recognized by Jammu University. For PG courses, candidates must have completed their UG in the respective course from a recognized university.

Admission process:

Admission to UG courses are done by the college on the basis of the merit secured by the students in the higher secondary examination. As far as PG courses are concerned, admission is made by the admission committee of each department with the approval of the dean of that particular department of the University of Jammu. Students belonging to the Jammu & Kashmir state, children of para-military, army personnel, and central government employees belonging to the state can apply.
