The Government Medical College is one of the very good medical colleges of Punjab and is mainly known for its quality education system and discipline. The college was started in the year of 1943 and is one of the oldest medical colleges of India. The College put all its hard efforts to provide quality education to its students. The college was founded with an objective to produce medical professionals. The College provides well qualified and experienced teaching members in order to provide all sorts of study materials and extra materials to the students.

Campus:

The College has very good infrastructure as it is situated in one of the famous cities of India. The college and its related hospital is in an area of about 163 acres and provides all sorts of travelling facility and has state of art laboratories for its students.

Courses Offered:

Currently the Government Medical College offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to the fields of medicine to the applicants. The courses are Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), B Sc in (Nursing, Medical Laboratory technology, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry), MS and MD.

Admission Procedure:

85% of the candidates are shortlisted through Punjab Medical Entrance Test and the remaining seats are filled through All India Medical Entrance Exam. The appearing students must have to first clear the 10+2 exams or its equivalent exams with a background in science.

Various medical firms of India are regularly visiting this famous medical college which has excellent placement records over the years. In different domestic and national reputed private Hospitals, dispensaries and health centers.
