IIT JAM Chemistry Papers
The IIT-JAM exams are conducted periodically by the Indian Institute of Technology for students aspiring to pursue post graduation in their respective fields. There are a number of options available for example, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Applications, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematical Statistics, etc.
The candidate needs a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Math at 10 + 2 level. The general category students need 55% at the Bachelors’ level to appear for this exam. Since it is an all India entrance exam, you can pick the centre that is most convenient for you. Masters in Chemistry is offered at IITs in Bangalore, Dlehi, Mumbai, Roorkee, Kolkata, Kharagpur.
The paper will have objective as well as subjective type questions. The objective type questions carry a weightage of 30% of the total marks whilst the subjective type has a wieghtage of 70% Since there is not negative marking on the paper a candidate has a wider choice of attempting almost all the questions. The answers for the subjective type questions can be supported with adequate diagrams and tables which will help to gain better marks.
Solving previous year’s papers will help to gain a proper knowledge of what to expect in the exam.
