Kavikulguru Institute of Technology & Science (KITS) came into existence in 1985-86 and it is recognized by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institute is affiliated to the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

The institute works under the control of the Vodithala Education Society.

The Kavikulguru Institute of Technology & Science offers the following undergraduate and post graduate programmes:

The undergraduate courses available in the institute are B. Arch, B.E (Computer Engineering),     B.E (Electrical Engineering), B.E (Electronics Engineering), B.E (Information Technology),     and B.E (Mechanical Engineering).

The post graduate courses available in the institute are M. Tech (Structural Engineering), MBA, and MCA.

Eligibility criteria for getting admission:

B. Arch/B.E Courses:

Candidates, who have passed HSC/ 10+2 examination (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects) with at least 50% marks, are eligible to apply for the B. Arch and B.E courses. Diploma holders in Engineering/ Technology with at least 50% marks are eligible for admission to the first year of engineering course. They must get qualified in the MHT-CET conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Mumbai, or the AIEEE Exam conducted by the CBSE Delhi in order to get admission for B. E course. They must get qualified in the NATA test to get admission for the B. Arch course.

M. Tech course:

Candidates who have passed B.E/B Tech are eligible to apply for the M. Tech course. They must get qualified in the GATE entrance test in order to get admission for the M. Tech course.

MBA/MCA courses:

Candidates, who have passed Graduation in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects, are eligible to apply for MCA course. Candidates who have passed Graduation in any discipline are eligible to apply for MBA course. They must get qualified in the MHT-CET conducted by DTE, Mumbai or CAT / MAT / CET / ATMA / XAT exams as well as written test, group discussion, personal interview conducted by the institute, in order to get admission for the MBA/ MCA course in the college.
