Guru Ghasidas Central University also called as Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is situated in Bilaspur in the state of Chhattisgarh in India. The university was formed under Central Universities Act 2009. This university was previously called as Guru Ghasidas University and it was formally launched in the year 1983 on the 16th of June.

The university is an associate of Commonwealth universities and Indian universities. The university is awarded with B+ grade status by the NAAC. The university was named after the great satnami Saint Guru Ghasidas, who struggled against all forms of injustice and social evils caused to poor people.

The campus also includes a central library, which is presently subscribing for more than 60 foreign and 200 Indian journals belonging to different disciplines of education. Students from all over the country are hailing the university to meet their higher education requirements.
