M.Sc (Nursing) in AIIMS


M.Sc (Nursing) is one among the post graduate courses offered at All India Institute for Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Nursing Education, Clinical Nursing, and nursing management are some of the subjects covered under the course. Bachelor degree holders in science with a minimum of 60% marks can seek admission to the course on the basis of an entrance exam (conducted by AIIMS). Tuition fee for pursuing the course is Rs. 700/- per annum.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc (Nursing) in AIIMS

Candidates with any of the following qualifications can apply for the course.

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Nursing
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing (Post-Certificate)
  • Post-Basic / Bachelor of Science in Nursing (4years)

The qualification must be obtained from any of the institute/University recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. Gen/OBC candidates must hold a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying exam. In case of SC/ST candidates, the minimum percentage of marks required is 55%. Apart from this, eligible candidate must have registered as nurse or midwife with any of the State Nursing Council.

Final year students (having the required qualifications) who have appeared or due to appear for the final year exam are also eligible to apply. But they must submit the proof of qualifying exam with required percentage of marks within 5 days of the date of declaration of result. They must also produce the certificate on registered nurse or registered midwife issued by the Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council.

Admission Procedure for M.Sc (Nursing) in AIIMS

An entrance test is conducted by AIIMS for the selection of eligible candidates. Candidates must score a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance exam to qualify.  A total of 90 questions are asked for the entrance test for duration of 90 minutes. Total marks for the entrance test is 90. If two students scored equally for the entrance test, then selection is done on the basis of the conditions given below.

Preference will be given for candidate with less age

  • Tuition Fee: Rs. 700/-
  • Pot Money: Rs. 480/-
  • Gymkhana Fee: Rs.80/-
  • Caution Money: Rs.100/-
  • Hostel Security: Rs.1000/-

Those who wish to avail the national medical library facilities should pay Rs. 50/- as extra amount. Fee structure is subject to revision from time to time.
