Bachelor in computer application i.e. BCA is a three year graduation course offered by Nalanda Open University where at the end of each year an examination is held namely part one, two and three.

Division of the paper:

In part two there are eight papers, out of which four of them have two sections namely theory and practical. In theory paper there are two sections:-A written examination which carries 70 marks and continuous evaluation of assignment which carries 30 marks. For every paper examinee needs to submit three assignments out of which best two are evaluated.

Practical papers are held either at the study centres or at any convenient place decided by the university. Each practical paper carries 100 marks

Time Duration

The paper including both theory and practical is of three hours duration.

Pattern of examination:

All the eight papers except one contains question from networking and security, operating systems, Linux, computer architecture, software design etc. In short all the core computer subjects are included. There are a total of ten questions out of which only five is to be answered. FST is a general science paper having questions from physics, chemistry and biology.
