Pharmacy Courses are gaining importance these days and many candidates are taking up pharmacy education. The basic requirement for getting into the Pharmacy courses is a higher secondary in science stream of education. Like professional courses in the field of engineering and medicine, pharmacy courses are also professional and therefore admission to pharmacy course at the UG level is done based on the merit secured in the entrance test meant for this purpose.

Pharmacy education in Haryana:

Haryana is a state with colleges offering education in a wide range of faculties and this is applicable to pharmacy education as well. There are a number of pharmacy colleges in the state and admission to the pharmacy colleges in the state is done based on the merit secured by candidates in the Online Entrance Test for B. Pharma called as OLET. Admissions to pharmacy colleges in the state are done by the Haryana State Counseling Society.

Minimum educational qualification required for taking up B. Pharm course in Haryana:

For taking up OLET examination, candidates must have passed their higher secondary from a recognized university or board with chemistry and physics as compulsory subjects in addition to any of the following subjects:

• Computer science

• Biotechnology

• Biology

• Mathematics

In the qualifying examination, candidates must have obtained at least 45% of marks, which is 40% for reserved category candidates.

About OLET Exam for B. Pharm admission in Haryana:

OLET examination is conducted for 90 marks, which includes 30 marks for physics, 30 for chemistry and 30 for biology or mathematics according to choice of candidates.
