Profile:

South Asian University was set up in South Delhi by the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. The university is located just next to Indira Gandhi National Open University. Initially, in order to provide world class facilities and faculty to the students, Indian prime Minister proposed the establishment of this university in the year 2005. The occassion where the Prime Minister actually proposed the establishment of this university, was the thirteen SAARC Summit held in Dhaka. The university is planning to use a temporary campus at Akbar Bhawan in near future.

Job Profile:

Applications from eligible candidates are invited on the prescribed format for appointment to the posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in South Asian University in the different pay bands.

Eligibility:

Candidates should be within the prescribed age limit set for the posts of Professor, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in South Asian University. Age limit is relaxable to some extent for the reserved category candidates. Also candidates should have high quality research publications in journals of repute. Also candidates should have experience in guiding doctoral research for laboratory based researchs.

Educational Qualification:

Ph.D. degree from a recognized university /institution with atleast 55% marks or equivalent at Master’s level in the relevant subject is required for all the specified posts. Post Graduate teaching experience of atleast 10 years is required for post of Professor and 5 years is required for the post of Assistant Professor. However, published work in reputed journals or books with some research experience is desirable forthe post of Associate Professor.

Pay Scale:

Professor: US$ 30000 to 45000 per month.
Assistant Professor: US$ 20000 to 35000 per month.
Associate Professor: US$ 15000 to 25000 per month.

Selection Process:

Candidates will be recruited on the desired post depending on their performance in the personal interview test that will be taken by a selection committee. The members of the selection committee will be selected by the South Asian University itself.
