University of Rajasthan was established in the year 1947 under the Government of India. Mr. Shivraj Patil is the Chancellor of the university while Professor Arun D. Sawant is the Vice Chancellor of the university. The university is located at Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is one of the oldest university in the state of Rajasthan. Initially it was established as University of Rajputana but later it was renamed to University of Rajasthan in the year 1956.
