The Cochin University of Science and technology was established with a major aim of development of research in science and technology and post graduate courses. The university was established in the year 1971 as a commitment from government of Kerala. The university commonly known as CUSAT has got collaborations with many famous institutes of Korea, France, Japan etc. CUSAT was selected as the center of excellence basically in the field of opted electronic sciences and lasers by the UGC.
