The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University came into existence by an Act of State Legislature of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the university was inaugurated by his Excellency Mr. K.R. Narayanan the former president of the nation on the 20th of September 1997. The university began its operations on the 3rd of October 1997 and the university is specially meant for offering legal education.

Recruitment by the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai:

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University has invited applications from qualified candidates for the following positions in the university:

Name of the Positions: Registrar, Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is 12, which is divided among the four vacancies as follows:

• Registrar – 01 post

• Professor – 02 posts

• Associate Professor – 04 Posts

• Assistant Professor – 05 posts

Duration of the position: For the position of Registrar, the duration of service is three years.

Pay Scale: The pay scales fixed for each of the aforesaid positions is given below:

• Registrar – Rs.37400-67000+AGP of Rs.10000

• For the teaching positions, the pay scales will be according to the norms of the University Grants Commission.

Educational qualification and experience:

Registrar: The holder of the position of Registrar shall be an academician in the field of law not lower in rank than that of the Principal of Law College or a professor of a University, who has put in service in such capacity for a period of minimum three years or an officer of the government not less than that of Deputy Secretary to Law Department of Government.

Teaching Positions: For teaching positions, the educational qualification and experience requirement according to UGC norms will have to be fulfilled by the candidates.

Age requirement: To apply for the position of Registrar, candidates should not be more than 55 years of age as on the date of notification (14th December 2011). For all other positions, age requirement is also according to the norms of UGC.

Dhinakaran Salai, Chennai – 600 028. The cost of application mentioned above is applicable only when the application form is downloaded or obtained by post. If it is obtained in person, the cost is Rs.600 and Rs.400 for registrar and other positions respectively.
