Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research was incorporated in the year 1962 under the Government of India. The institute was initially named as Nehru Hospital as it was inaugurated by Pandit Jawahar Lal nehru. The institute was established on July 7, 1963. The institute was actually established under the control of Government of Punjab but later the control of the institute was transferred to the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Profesor K K Talwar is the current Director of the institute. The institute is one of the most prestigious medical and research institute present in Asia.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research is inviting applications from eligible and qualified candidates for filling up the following posts of Senior Residents, Junior/Senior Demonstrator (Non Medical), Demonstrator (Medical) and Senior Medical Officer. The posts of Senior Residents are available in the departments of Anaesthesia, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Microbiology, Renal Transplant Surgery, Forensic Medicine, Hospital Administration, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, General Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, Dermatology and Pharmacology etc. Posts of Junior/Senior Demonstrator are available in the departments of Community Medicine, Anatomy, Biophysics, Biochemistry and Experimental Medicine & Biotechnology.

3. Recruitment of Demonstrator (Medical):

4. Recruitment of Senior Medical Officer (Casualty/ Emergency):

Application Fee:

Candidates are required to submit the prescribed amount of application fee in the form of a crossed demand draft only. General and OBC candidates should make the demand draft of Rs. 500 while the amount of application fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs. 250 only. The amount of application fee is totally non refundable.
