The duration of D.T. Ed course offered by the Sri Venkateswara College of Education is two years and this course is offered in regular, non-semester mode. The approved intake capacity is 100 students per year for this course and for getting into this course general category candidates must have secured not less than 50% of marks in the higher secondary level in any stream of education, while ST/SC/MBC and OBC candidates must have secured not less than 45% of marks. The upper age limit to apply to this course for general category candidates is 29 years, while for OBC/MBC candidates it is 32 years and for SC/ST candidates it is 34 years.
Bachelor of Education:
The duration of B. Ed course offered by the Sri Venkateswara College of Education is one-year and this course is offered in regular, non-semester mode. The approved intake capacity is 100 students per year for this course and details regarding the relevant optional subjects available in the B. Ed course for students, who have completed their UG or PG degree in any discipline, are given below:
• For candidates, who have majored English for career, English Literature, Functional English, the relevant optional subject available in the B. Ed course is English
• For candidates, who have majored Tamil or Functional Tamil, the relevant optional subject available in the B. Ed course is Tamil
• For candidates, who have majored mathematics, the relevant optional subject available in the B. Ed course is mathematics
• For candidates, who have majored physics, electronics, chemistry and biochemistry, the relevant optional subject available in the B. Ed course is Physical Science
• For candidates, who have majored botany, plant science, zoology, animal science, microbiology and applied microbiology, the relevant optional subject available in the B. Ed course is Biological Science
• For candidates, who have majored history, historical studies, geography, political science and economics, the relevant optional subject available in the B. Ed course is Social Studies
Candidates must have secured minimum 50% (45% for OBC/MBC/Physically challenged candidates and 40% for SC/ST candidates) in the PG or UG degree course.
