St. Peter’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences shortly called as SPIPS came into existence in the year 1995 with the objective of offering opportunity for effective learning in the field of pharmaceutical science education. The institute is one among the different institutions established by the St. Peter’s Educational Association.

Courses offered:

SPIPS offers the following course in the faculty of pharmacy with approval from Pharmacy Council of India, AICTE, Government of Andhra Pradesh and with affiliation from the Kakatiya University:

Duration of the courses and intake capacity:

The Bachelor of Pharmacy course offered by SPIPS extends to a period of four years and the approved intake capacity of the institution for this course is 60 students per year, for each branches of M. Pharm course, which extends to a period of two years, the institute has an intake capacity of 18 students per year. Pharm D course extends to a period of six years and the approved intake capacity of SPIPS course is 30 students, while for the Pharm D (PB) course, which extends to a period of three years, the intake capacity of the institution is 10 students per year.

Admission Criteria:

Admission of students to the B. Pharm course offered by the SPIPS will be done based on the relative merit order at the State Level Common Entrance Test conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Government subject to the reservation rules for candidates, who have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with not less than 55% of marks in science stream. In the case of NRI candidates, they must have secured at least 60% of marks at the higher secondary level in science stream. For M. Pharm course, admission will be based on merit secured by the students in the GATE examination or University Level Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Kakatiya University, Warangal subject to the reservation rules for candidates with Bachelor of Pharmacy degree.

Library at SPIPS has a wide collection of 9100 books under 1400 different titles and the library is subscribing for 14 international journals, 20 national journals. There are 19 periodical and magazines and 6 newspapers and the library also has 30 computer systems for digital library facility.
