Technical Officer, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India comes under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The authority actually came into existence under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The authority was founded with the aim for laying down science based standards for article of food. The head office of the authority is located at Delhi. The important individuals of the authority are Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer and both of these are appointed by Government of India only. The Chairperson is in the rank of Secretary to Government of India.
Job Profile:
Eligible candidates are invited to apply for the posts of Technical Officer in the headquarters or various zones of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Only Citizen of India are invited to apply for the specified position of Technical Officer in Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Candidates will be recruited purely on deputation basis including short term contract or contract (outsourced). The initial period of deputation for the specified position of Technical Officer is of three years only.
Eligibility:
Candidates should have age within the prescribed age limit. Candidates are required to strictly follow the specified age criteria for being eligible for applying for the posts of Technical Officers in Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Candidates having age more than the prescribed age limit, will not be considered eligible for the post. The maximum age limit set for the post of Technical Officer in Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is 56 years as on the last date for the reciept of application. Candidates belonging to reserved categories may get relaxation in the upper age limit as per the rules of Government of India.
Educational Qualification:
Interested candidates are required to be Officers holding analogous or equivalent posts on regular basis from Central or State Government or Autonomous bodies or Government controlled or funded recognized research institutions or universities. Besides this, candidates are also required to possess minimum six years regular service experience under Pay Band II i.e. Rs. 9300-34800 with the Grade Pay of Rs. 2800. Candidates are also required to have done Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized institute or university in the disciplines of Chemistry or Bio Chemistry or Dairy Technology, Edible Oil Technology, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Sciences, Nutrition/ Toxicology etc.
For Contract (outsourced):
Candidates are only required to possess Master’s degree in concerned discipline from a recognized university, for applying on contract (outsourced) basis.
No. of posts: Total 20 posts are available.
Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be paid the salary under the pay band III i.e. Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200.
Selection Process:
An interview test with the selection committee is need to be faced by the candidates. Candidates are required to perform well in the interview test for being considered at the time of final selections. Shortlisted candidates will be intimated about the date of interview test through website or e-mail or may be through post.
