Food Safety and Standards Authority of India comes under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The authority actually came into existence under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The authority was founded with the aim for laying down science based standards for article of food. The head office of the authority is located at Delhi. The important individuals of the authority are Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer and both of these are appointed by Government of India only. The Chairperson is in the rank of Secretary to Government of India.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is looking forward to recruit eligible and qualified candidates for filling up the following vacant positions of Scientist Group IV (4), Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Senior Finance & Accounts Officer, Scientist Group IV (1) and Law Officer. Recruitments will be made on Deputation basis including Short Term Contract/ Contract (Outsourced).

1. Recruitment of Scientist Group IV (4):
No. of posts: Only 8 posts are available.
Eligibility: Candidates should be officers from Central or State Government etc holding analogous or equivalent post on regular basis. Candidates should have five year regular service experiencein Pay Band III.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 8700.

2. Recruitment of Deputy Director (Management/ Administration & Finance Laboratories):
No. of posts: Only 6 posts are available.
Eligibility: Candidates should be officers from Central or State Government etc holding analogous or equivalent post on regular basis. Candidates should have five year regular service experiencein Pay Band III.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6600.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Director (Management/ Hindi):

Eligibility: Candidates should be officers from Central or State Government etc holding analogous or equivalent post on regular basis. Candidates should have three year regular service experiencein Pay Band II.
