Medicine has always been an important field of education in India. It has flourished through ages. India is a land which has been producing fine doctors. When it comes to medicine in India then one cannot miss out Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. This is one of the first universities in India which dealt with research and education separately. Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University also offers a degree B.Pharm., which is well known full time degree course. This is a four years degree course. This degree deals with appropriate usage of medication to get favorable outcomes. This degree is of great importance. This degree is a requirement for any individual who wants to practice as a pharmacist. Although to be eligible for this degree one must have a minimum of 50% score in science subjects in 10+2.

About the Anatomy, Physiology and Health Education Paper

Anatomy, Physiology and Health Education is an important paper in the first year of this degree course. This paper mainly covers cell physiology, tissues, bones and joints, blood and lymph, various systems like cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, central nervous system and etc., health education, nutrition, first aid and other related topics. It is very important to have a deep knowledge about the subject. This subject is of prime importance.

Pattern of the Paper

The theory paper is of 100 marks, 80 written and 20 internal assessments. There are three type of questions; essay type, short notes type and short answers type. There are 3 essay type questions out of which only 2 are to be answered. Each essay type question carries 20 marks. In short notes type section there are 8 questions out of which 6 questions are to be answered. Each of the short note type carries 5 marks. The short answer types are of 2 marks each and one has to attempt any 5 out of the given 7 questions.

There is a practical paper too of 100 marks. 30 marks are internal and rest 70 marks is for the university exam.

Minimum Marks to pass the Examination

A minimum of 50% of marks is required overall, including theory, practical, internal assessment and orals.

Time Duration

Time allotted for the examination is 3 hours.
