Uma Arts and Nathiba Commerce Mahila College, Gandhinagar came into existence in the year 1991 on the 15th of June and the college is affiliated to the Gujarat University located in Ahmedabad. The college is located in the capital city of the state of Gujarat and it earned permanent affiliation from the Gujarat University on the 15th of June 1997. It is an aided institution that was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council with B++ grade status.

Arts:

For the arts courses offered by the Uma Arts and Nathiba Commerce Mahila College, admission is done based on the past merit secured by the students in the Gujarat Higher Secondary Board Examination. Admission to the second and final years of the arts course is done based on the marks secured by the students in the corresponding previous years.

Commerce:

In the Bachelor of Commerce course offered by the college, accountancy is offered as a compulsory subject and the optional subjects offered are:

Master of Arts:

In the Master of Arts course, Sanskrit is offered as the main subject and the subsidiary subjects offered are English/Gujarati or Hindi.

Computer Course:

Computer is offered as an optional subject for the first year Arts and commerce students of the Uma Arts and Nathiba Commerce Mahila College. Apart from this, recently in the year 2006, the college has introduced a certificate course in computers & office automation for students interested in computer applications. The syllabus of this course is designed in such a way as to offer 15 sessions of theory paper and 15 sessions of practical paper.

Counseling Cell:

A counseling cell is functioning in the college to offer counseling to the students in their educational difficulties. Any student is permitted to approach the cell to get free lecture in difficult subjects in such a way that she can easily get through the paper without any difficulty. The psychology department functioning in the college also offers counseling to the students.
