The University of Kashmir-Faculty of Applied Sciences & Technology Test- Home Science Papers is prepared by the faculty of the home science department of the University of Kashmir. It is a relatively easy subject and is quite popular among the womenfolk. It includes learning about the various housekeeping skills like cooking sewing stitching etc. Though it just as might as well prove to be difficult. The candidate taking up the exam needs to be creative and really interested in what he or she is doing.

Importance of the paper

Home Science actually deals with the different skills that one might need around the house. The most common ones being the cooking, cleaning, etc. But the most important factor to be kept in mind is that this is not just learning about the everyday things but it is about learning them from a fresh perspective that involves science. It teaches to be meticulous and derive the most out of a given thing. Thus the paper mainly emphasizes on the ability of the candidate to apply whatever he or she has learnt in the practical purposes.

Format

The paper consists of sixty multiple choice questions and the candidate needs to pick one of the given four options Out of the given four choices only one is correct.

Paper pattern

The paper covers most of the general housekeeping skills.

Marking

Each question carries the same marks. The candidate is however penalized for the wrong answers. If the answer is incorrect then one third of the total marks for that question are deducted from the final score of the candidate. Thus the candidates taking the exam must keep in mind that they choose the right answers. In case the question is left unanswered, there is no negative marking.
