Vananchal Dental College & Hospital was established by Vananchal Educational & Welfare Trust and the college is affiliated to Nilamber Pitamber University situated at Medininagar. It was established with the purpose of meeting the huge requirement of dental surgeon in the state of Jharkhand. The Government of India’s Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Dental Council of India and Government of Jharkhand has approved the college.

Course of Study:

The college is offering Bachelor of Dental Surgery course and the duration of the course is five years.

Eligibility for admission:

For applying to the college, the candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from the recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 50% of marks in biology, chemistry and physics (40% in the case of SC/STC/OBC candidates) and should also have passed in English. Candidate must also have attained 17 years of age on the 31st of July in the year in which he/she is applying.

Process of Selection:

Candidates are admitted to the BDS course based on the marks secured by them in the entrance examination conducted by Jharkhand state unaided private dental college association. Candidates completing the entrance examination successfully will be called for the first round of counseling. If some seats are vacant after the first round of counseling, candidates in the waiting list will be called for second round of counseling. In another method of selection, candidates who have succeeded in the state combined medical entrance examination or C.B.S.E medical entrance test or other equivalent examination will also be called for counseling. The college also prepares a separate merit list for management quota/NRI candidates.

Infrastructure:

The college is loaded with excellent infrastructural facilities for offering quality education to the students. The classrooms are provided with audio-visual aid and modern furniture and the labs are also provided with sufficient facilities. The college is also offering transportation facilities, canteen, health center and recreation room for students.
