Kisanlal Nathamal Arts & Commerce College was founded in the year 1961 and the college is run by Berar general education society located at Akola. Initially, when the college began to function it had only five lecturers and 120 students, but now the students strength has increased to more than 1000 students and the number of teaching members of the college is now 14. The college is affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University and the college is offering courses under commerce and arts faculties.

As mentioned earlier, Kisanlal Nathmal Arts & Commerce College is offering courses under the faculties of arts and commerce and the details of courses offered by the college are given below:

Bachelor of Arts:

The Bachelor of Arts course offered by the college extends over a period of three years and for this course, English and Marathi are offered as compulsory subjects and the students are permitted to choose any three subjects out of home economics (for girls alone), English literature, Marathi literature, history, political science and economics. As far as the second year of B. A course is concerned, environmental science is taught as a compulsory subject.

Master of Arts:

The college offers the Master of Arts in home economics only for girl students and the duration of the course is two years.

Bachelor of Commerce:

The Bachelor of Commerce course offered by the college extends over a period of three years and for this course, Marathi and English are offered as compulsory subjects for all three years. For the first year, the optional subjects are business economics and financial accounting and applied components subject is computer fundamentals & operating system like this each year has some optional subjects and one or two applied components subjects.

Other courses:

The other course offered by the college is Bachelor of Business Administration and it is also planning to introduce Master of Arts in History and Master of Computer Management subjects.
