Adhiparasakthi Agricultural & Horticultural College, Kalavai
Adhiparasakthi Agricultural & Horticultural College was established in the year 1999 and it is the first self-financing agricultural college in the district of Vellore. The college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Agricultural University located at the city of Coimbatore and initially if offered only agricultural course, later horticulture was also included in the year 2003-04.
Courses Offered:
Degree Courses:
The college is offering Bachelor of Science in agriculture and horticulture and the duration of these two courses is four years.
Diploma Course:
In addition to the degree course in agriculture, the college is also offering diploma course in agriculture and the duration of the diploma course is two years.
Eligibility Criteria:
For degree courses and diploma course offered by the college, candidates must have completed their higher secondary examination with mathematics, physics and chemistry/biology, physics and chemistry with not less than 55% of marks for candidates falling under general category (50%, 45% and a pass is required for BC/BCC/BCM, MBC/DNC and SC/ST candidates respectively. Candidates who have completed their 10+2 in vocational stream with subjects related to agriculture can also apply. Also, the candidates should not be more than 21 years of age on the month of July in which he/she is seeking admission. But, there is no age limit for SC/ST candidates and physically challenged candidates must not be more than 26 years of age. The age criteria and mark requirements are applicable only for degree course and not diploma course.
Intake capacity:
Adhiparasakthi Agricultural & Horticulture has an intake capacity of 100 students for B. Sc agriculture course, which is divided into 50 students on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination and remaining 50 seats are management quota seats. The total number of seats for B. Sc horticulture course is 30 students, which is divided into 15 on merit and 15 on management basis. For Diploma course, the total intake capacity is 50 students, which is divided into 25 each through management and merit basis.
