Pragathi Gramin Bank is one of the popular regional rural banks in the state of Karnataka and the bank is sponsored by the Canara Bank. The bank has more than 350 branches in different districts of the state of Karnataka and seven regional offices as well. The head office of the bank is located in the city of Bellary.

Pragathi Gramin Bank has invited applications from eligible Indian candidates domiciled in Karnataka for the post of Office Assistant (multipurpose) and the details regarding the notification issued by the bank for the same are given below:

Name of the Vacancy: Office Assistant (Multipurpose) (Post Code -04 – Group B)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies is fresh vacancies 64, which is divided among the different categories as follows:

SC - 10

OBC – 17

ST – 04

General – 33

Out of the total 64 posts, 1 post each is reserved for OC and VI candidates, two posts for HI candidates and 06 posts for Ex-servicemen candidates.

In addition to these posts, there are also 23 backlog vacancies for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose), which is divided as 16 for SC, 06 for ST and 01 for OBC

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Office Assistant (multipurpose) will come under the pay brand of 7200-400/3-8400-500/3-9900-600/4-12300-700/7-17200-1300/1-18500-800/1-19300

Eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification: Candidates must be degree holders in any discipline with proficiency in Kannada Language. Candidates with computer skills will be given preference.

Age Requirement: Age requirement for the position of Office Assistant is between 18 and 28. Upper age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in written test followed by interview. The written test is fixed to be conducted on 30th of October 2011. Application fee:

Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.350, which is inclusive of postal charges and SC/ST candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs.50, which is postal charges alone. The fee should be paid through Canara Bank Challan form that can be obtained from the website of Pragathi Gramin Bank at http://pgbankho.in/Kannada%20html/english/index.html and the amount should be credited to account no. 0506201003882 and name of the account is Pragathi Gramin Bank, Recruitment Project – Office Assistants (Multipurpose) and the candidates copy should be preserved for producing at the time of written exam.

How to apply:

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements, will have to apply online through the website of the bank at http://pgbankho.in/Kannada%20html/english/index.html between 17th August and 16th of September 2011. Once application is made online, the system generated print out should be kept by the candidates for future reference and no other means of application will be accepted.
