University of Jammu was incorporated in the year 1969 under Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969. Professor Varun Sahni is the Vice Chancellor of the university. The university is located on the bansk of the Tawi River and is affiliated by University Grants Commission. 1. Recruitment of Professor:

Educational Qualification: An eminent scholar with Ph.D. degree in concerned dicipline and atleast 10 years or teaching experience in any university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 10000

2. Recruitment of Associate Professor:
No. of posts: 2 posts are available.
Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a good academic record with Ph.D. degree in concerned discipline and Master’s degree with 55% marks in aggregate. A minimum of eight years experience is required in the field of teaching or research.

3. Recruitment of Assistant Professor:

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a good academic record with atleast 55% marks in aggregate at Master’s degree level. Candidates with equivalent degree from an accredated foreign university are also eligible to apply.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 6000

4. Recruitment of Research Associate:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have obtained Doctorate degree in the relevant discipline of Social Sciences with some recognized published wok to their credit.
Pay Scale: Consolidated salary of Rs. 12000 per month.
